Nigel Clough

Clough joined his father, Brian at Nottingham Forest in the year 1984 as a teenage rookie and he soon cemented his place in the starting line up and went on to help notts forest win two league cups in the years 1989 and 1990. He was on the losing side in the 1991 FA Cup final howvere he went on to make over 400 appearances for the club and scored over 100 goals. He later on moved to Liverpool in 1993 before enjoying a spell at Manchester City and finished off his playing career at Burton Albion, taking on a position as player – manager. He was a part of the England team during the early 90’s, notching up 14 international caps.

Des walker

Walker was handed his international debut after the 1988 European football championships in a match against Denmark. He had a great defensive debut against the Danes. The main test of his international career came during the 1990 world cup finals. England’s semi – final match against West Germany pitched Walker against Jurgen Klinsmann and it was Walker who controlled the game, preventing the German star from even getting a single shot on goal. Walker left the world cup finals with a reputation as one of the best defenders in the world. His impressive display during Euro 92 earned him a move to Italian club, Sampdoria. Walker’s international career ended after failing to qualify for the 1994 football world cup finals.
